SOME HOME REMEDIES YOU MIGHT HAVE NOT KNOWN AND NEED TO KNOW...

Received these tips from one of my siblings thru our group watsapp. Such common home remedies, some I know yet I take for granted and most of the time forget and some I am completely ignorant about, so forgive this silly ding dong ignoramus hahaha..

So before I forget again, may I take this space to share lest some of you are like me hehehe..

1. Ants Problem?  Ants hate cucumbers. (Gosh, really? )
“keep the skin of cucumbers near the place where they are or at ant hole.”

2.  To make mirror shine: clean with Sprite. (I know that wiping with crumpled newspaper can do that too.)

3.  To remove chewing gum from clothes: keep the cloth in the freezer for one hour.

4.  To whiten white clothes: soak white clothes in hot water with a slice of lemon for 10 minutes.

5.  To get maximum juice out of lemons, soak lemons in hot water for one hour and then juice them.

6.  To avoid tears while cutting onions, chew gum.

7.  To boil potatoes quickly, skin one potato from one side only before boiling.

yummiee..

8.  To remove ink from clothes: Put toothpaste on the ink spots generously and let it dry completely then wash. (Huhh.. really? I am not convinced but worth a try..:))

9.  To get rid of mice or rats: sprinkle black pepper in places where you find mice and rats.
They run far away. (Gosh, really?)..

perhaps grounded pepper is better.... '"atishoo!!"

10.  Take water before bedtime: about 90% of heart attacks occur early in the morning and it can be reduced if one takes a glass or two of water before going to bed at night.

11.  We know water is important but never knew the special time one has to drink it!!
        Did you??

Drinking water at the right time maximizes its effectiveness on the human body”:

  •     1 glass of water after waking up helps to activate internal organs.
  •        1 glass of water 30 minutes before a meal helps digestions.
  •        1 glass of water before taking a bath helps lower blood pressure
  •        1 glass of water before to bed avoids stroke or heart attack

..there.... I hope I don’t forget anymore and so do you…

Let's stay young and healthy always!!

Cheers!!

BARRIERS TO LOVE...

"Whatever is in your heart that is not clean, not true, will ultimately begin to act like a wall, obstructing the natural flow of love. People who say that there is no love in their life, are being blocked by this wall. Actually there is love, but they just cant accept it. Ego is the clearest example of this.  Ego limits the flow of love by placing conditions on the love you give and receive. Ego uses love to satisfy its own needs and desires. It produces a love which is deceptive, one which brings only temporary satisfaction. Ego does not allow you to experience true love or share it. If fact, ego is capable of destroying your ability to feel love altogether......"

A WONDERFUL TRUE STORY ..

Just sharing a beautiful  true story I just read.

It happened in 1892 at Stanford University..

An 18-year-old student was struggling to pay his fees. He was an orphan, and not knowing where to turn for money, he came up with a bright idea. He and a friend decided to
host a musical concert on campus to raise money for their education.

They reached out to the great pianist Ignacy J. Paderewski. His manager demanded a guaranteed fee of $2000 for the piano recital. A deal was struck and the boys began to work to make the concert a success.

The big day arrived. But unfortunately, they had not managed to sell enough tickets. The total collection was only $1600. Disappointed, they went to Paderewski and explained their plight. They gave him the entire $1600, plus a cheque for the balance $400. They promised to honour the cheque at the soonest possible.

“No,” said Paderewski. “This is not acceptable.” He tore up the cheque, returned the $1600 and told the two boys: “Here’s the $1600. Please deduct whatever expenses you have incurred. Keep the money you need for your fees. And just give me whatever is left”. The boys were surprised, and thanked him profusely.

It was a small act of kindness. But it clearly marked out Paderewski as a great human being.

Why should he help two people he did not even know? We all come across situations like these in our lives. And most of us only think “If I help them, what would happen to me?” The truly great people think, “If I don’t help them, what will happen to them?” They don’t do it expecting something in return. They do it because they feel it’s the right thing to do.

Paderewski later went on to become the Prime Minister of Poland. He was a great leader, but unfortunately when the World War began, Poland was ravaged. There were more than 1.5 million people starving in his country, and no money to feed them. Paderewski did not know where to turn for help. He reached out to the US Food and Relief Administration for help.

The head there was a man called Herbert Hoover — who later went on to become the US President. Hoover agreed to help and quickly shipped tons of foodgrains to feed the starving Polish people.

A calamity was averted. Paderewski was relieved. He decided to go across to meet Hoover and personally thank him. When Paderewski began to thank Hoover for his noble gesture, Hoover quickly interjected and said, “You shouldn’t be thanking me Mr. Prime Minister. You may not remember this, but several years ago, you helped two young students go through college. I was one of them.”

The world is a wonderful place.   And the moral of the story is ...What goes around comes around!

A VERY TOUCHING STORY ***THE FAITHFUL DOG***

I know of this story a long time ago and it left me so sad and I remember that I cried uncontrollably. I came across it again recently and I can't help but share it here in my long neglected "cob-webbed"  blog.

"A dog was so faithful that the woman could leave her baby with it and go out to attend other matters. She always returned to find the child soundly asleep with the dog faithfully watching over him. One day something tragic happened.

The woman as usual, left the baby in the"hands" of this faithful dog and went out shopping. When she returned, she discovered rather a nasty scene, there was a total mess. The baby's cot was dismantled, his nappies & clothes torn to shreds with blood stains all over the bedroom where she left the child & the dog. Shocked, the woman wailed as she began looking for the baby.

All of a sudden, she saw the faithful dog emerging from under the bed. It was covered with blood and licking it's mouth as if it had just finished a delicious meal.

The woman got angry and assumed that the dog had devoured her baby. Without much thought she beat the dog with a wood to death. But as she continued searching for the "remains" of her child, she beheld another scene.

Close to the bed was the baby who, although lying bare floor, was safe & under the bed where the body of a snake was torn to pieces in what had been a fierce battle between the snake and the dog which was now dead. Then reality dawned on d woman who now began to understand what took place in her absence. The dog fought to protect the baby from the ravenous snake.

It was too late for her now to make amends because in her impatience and anger, she had killed the faithful dog. How often have we misjudged people and torn them to shreds with harsh words and deeds before we have had time to evaluate the situation?

This is called SIN OF PRESUMPTION Presuming things our way without taking the trouble to find out exactly what the situation really is. Little patience can drastically reduce major lifelong mistakes. Who Are You misjudging right now? Don't think what you think others are thinking, Take time to get the whole truth."

..and so, the moral of the story is .......
